STATE COLLEGE, Pa.Mason Parris of the Cliff Keen Wrestling Club cruised in his first wrestling match in eight months, earning an 11-0 technical superiority against Modova’s Alexandr Romanov at the Real American Freestyle’s second event, dubbed RAF02, on Saturday (Oct. 25) at Penn State’s Bryce Jordan Center.

Competing in the unlimited weight division, Parris built a 3-0 lead in the first period, highlighted by an early single-leg takedown, then broke it open in the second with three takedowns and another exposure off a single leg. He scored on big double leg and with Romanov losing gas, added a go behind on the edge before ending the bout with another single at the 3:51 mark.

A 2023 world bronze medalist and 2024 Olympic, Parris had last competed at the Zagreb Open, where he took silver at 125kg, on Feb. 6. He also captured gold at the Dan Kolov-Nikola Petrov International about a week earlier, on Jan. 26, in Bulgaria. Parris took some time away from the mat and participated in the Los Angeles Chargers mini-camp in May before returning to full-time wrestling with the CKWC.

Parris is the fifth CKWC wrestler to compete in the RAF. Austin Gomez and Real Woods claimed wins at RAF01 in August in Cleveland, while Bajrang Punia and Jacob Cardenas both dropped close decisions.
